Meet the Artist
I’m Heather, an artist from Donegal. I’ve loved painting for as long as I can remember and I’ve always been a very creative person.
I paint the beauty I see around me. Everything I paint comes from something I’ve seen, a photograph I’ve taken myself, or something I’ve imagined.
I’m especially drawn to places and moments that I have a real sense of nostalgia for. The places I’ve loved and places that have stayed with me. Captureing those memories through painting and immortalising a place and moment in the way it felt to me at the time.
Nesso from Lake Como

The summer I travel to lake como, and higher on my list of things to see was this iconic bridge in Nesso. I was so delighted to see you with my own eyes and wanted to immortalise it in this painting, I even jumped off the bridge myself. I painted this from a photo I took at the time and you can see the hub of activity in this little spot, the town of Nesso rises up through the hills behind the bridge with the waterfall . cascading down the cliff behind the bridge cascading down the cliffs. I tried to capture the vibrant the colour and the activity through this painting.
Lake Como is is somewhere I just wish I could have been left for a month with a paintbrush and no one to bother me. Every single view of the lake is perfection. I’m trying to capture the magic in my Como Serise

A little woodland wildflower painting filled with pure joy. I love painting these flowers, they are so much fun. And the blue beige colour combos is one of my absolute favourites

This is such an nostalgic painting for me. I found a photo my mum took of my grandads tunnel in 1995 the year before I was born. My grandads tunnel was his pride and joy. I have so many memories with him here and I could smell the tomatoes straight from the photo. In painting this I was hoping to capture that nostalgia, the smell of tomatoes, the heat of the tunnel and the feeling of sand under my feet.
