I’m Heather, an artist from Donegal, Ireland. I’ve loved painting for as long as I can remember and I’ve always been a very creative person.

For me, painting is a way to escape the noise of a busy world. When I paint, I can get completely lost in it and enter that feeling of being in a flow state where everything else seems to disappear for a while. 

I paint primarily in acrylic on canvas and I love using colour to bring out the character of a place. I’m particularly drawn to water, the Irish coastline and nature, and to places that have a personal meaning to me.

Everything I paint comes from something I’ve seen, a photograph I’ve taken myself, a memory or something I’ve imagined. When I’m painting a place, I’m not just trying to recreate what it looked like. I’m trying to capture the atmosphere and the feeling of what it was like to actually be there in that moment.

I’m especially drawn to places that I feel nostalgic about. Places I’ve been, places I’ve loved and moments that have stayed with me. Painting them gives me a way to hold onto those memories and bring them to life on canvas.

If someone chooses to bring one of my paintings into their home, I’d love for it to give them that same sense of warmth, nostalgia and calm that I felt when I painted it. I hope my paintings can offer a little escape of their own and bring back a feeling of somewhere special..
